The Brownwood Housing Authority (BHA) seeks to assist low-income families, including those who are elderly, disabled, or handicapped, with safe, decent, and affordable housing opportunities.
Our Goal:
The overall goal of the BHA program is to help improve the quality of life for public housing residents and empowering our residents to take charge of their lives and of their environment.
The needs of our residents drive the initatives we promote to ensure those living on our properties are not only safe, but they have a decent place to call home. These services will enable them to become economically independent and link the elderly and people with disabilities with the resources necessary to maintain their independence and age in place.

Message from the Executive Director:
Welcome to the Brownwood Housing Authority (BHA) website! We hope that you will use this website to learn more about the programs and properties that we operate in Brown County. BHA serves Brown County residents on a daily basis as tenants residing in the properties we own and operate, and through the rental subsidies we pay for families living in the private rental market. We are very proud of our long history of accomplishment in serving Brown County residents as well as of the partnerships we have developed and maintained to provide the best quality services to our clients. It is the commitment of every BHA employee to provide the highest quality service to the residents of our communities and the customers we serve. We also believe in providing avenues of opportunity for resident self-sufficiency by aggressively pursuing partnerships with public and/or private entities to allow for the implementation of programs beneficial to them.
